Summary/Sypnopsis
In 1996 in the Philippines, Hong Kong native Cheung (Bobby Au Yeung) is leading a meaningless and destitute life. By chance, Cheung saves the life of Wing (Benz Hui). The good-natured Wing in turn helps Cheung pay off his gambling debts and helps Cheung to retain his confidence. Half a year has passed and Cheung still has the same gambling habits, losing $10,000k (USA) of Wing’s savings. Wing continues to encourage Cheung to have a stronger will in life, but Cheung doesn’t listen. Wing is abducted by strangers and Cheung tracks down his whereabouts, leading him to come across Chor, who was his competitor 10 years ago in the worldwide gambling competition. It turns out that Chor is Cheung’s debtor of the $10,000k! In order to avoid Wing’s right hand maimed, Cheung handed over his passport until all his debts have been repaid. It turns out that this is a scheme set up by Wing and Chor! Another 10 years pass and Chor has been promoted to CEO of the casino, Wing is the resort manager, and Cheung has become a gardener at the casin0, aloof from the rest of the world. On this day, Wing receives a group of casin0 customers at the airport. Wan (Jessica Hsuan) is among the customers and she brought large quantities of counterfeit goods to sell in the Philippines. But her prime motive of course is gambling! Aside from being a gardener, Cheung also has a second “job,” which is to use his bad luck to thwart the gambling wins of lucky customers…
